The Middle East, a region stretching from Morocco to Iran, has a fascinating history and culture that has had a profound impact on the West. Today, the region is a major global player. The various countries that make up the Middle East each play an important role in international politics, economics and trade. With the Bachelor's program in Middle East Studies, you will immerse yourself in this region's many facets and backgrounds. The training offers the opportunity to learn one of the important languages of the region. This way you gain unique knowledge of the Middle East. Already in your first year, you choose whether you want to learn Arabic, Persian, Turkish or modern Hebrew. In this program, we also offer two less language-oriented specializations: Modern Middle Eastern Studies and Islamic Studies.
Whichever specialization you choose, in this program you will develop yourself into a critical thinker with a broad knowledge of the Middle East. In addition, you will acquire many skills that you need for your academic studies, but which you can also use in your further career and in your personal life.
Six graduations
The Bachelor's program in Middle East Studies has six specialisations. At the start of the first year, you choose one of the specializations, so that you can shape your studies according to your own interests. In your first year you can also choose to learn a language from the region.

- Modern Middle Eastern Studies
- Islamic studies
